The Very Private Life of Mister Sim (La Vie très privée de Monsieur Sim) is a quirky but undeniably heartfelt film directed by Michel Leclerc which spotlights, with a mix of humour, insight and searing reality, how awful a state unending “privacy”, better known as loneliness, can be.
Synopsis. Mister Sim is of no concern whatsoever. At least, this is what he thinks about himself. His wife has left him, his job has left him, and when goes to see his father in a remote part of Italy, not even Dad has the time to have lunch with him.
Mr. Sim has no interest in life. It’s at least what he thinks of himself. His wife left him, his job left him. This is when he received an unexpected proposal : travel through France to sell toothbrushes which will be the “revolution of mouth hygiene”.
