The Watter's Mou' is a novella by Bram Stoker. This novella is a romantic adventure story about a young coast guard officer who is bound by duty to stop his girlfriend's father and other local fishermen from smuggling on the eastern coast of Scotland.
The waves still beat into the Watter's Mou' with violence, for though the storm had passed the sea was a wide-stretching mass of angry waters, and curling white crowned every wave. But with the outgoing tide the rocky bed of the cove broke up the waves, and they roared sullenly as they washed up the estuary.
The Watter's Mou', meaning "the water's mouth," revolves around the romance between a young coast guard officer and his fiancée, the daughter of a fisherman. The chief boatman, William Barrow or Sailor Willy as he is popularly known, is tasked with dealing with smuggling going on among the local fishermen, including his girlfriend's father.
