Oggi non volevo parlare di Kurt Cobain ma poi, avendo avuto l’occasione di scrivere un articolo su “ The Winding Sheet ”, uscito il 1 Maggio 1990, mi trovo costretto a parlarne e di come egli illuminò un’intera scena con la sua morte.
The Winding Sheet is the debut studio album by alternative rock artist Mark Lanegan. It was released on May 1, 1990, on Sub Pop. The album was Lanegan's first solo work, and is notable in its departure from the characteristic sound of Screaming Trees, the band he fronted from 1985 until 2000.

Particolare curioso, questo pezzo è uno di quelli dove Kurt Cobain compare come chitarrista in The Winding Sheet, a riprova di come l’esperienza sia stata assolutamente di rilievo per lui, al punto di volerla omaggiare pochi anni dopo, già divenuto rockstar di fama mondiale.
17 ott 2017 · Siamo nel 1989, quando Kurt Cobain e Mark Lanegan si prendono una bella sbornia insieme e decidono di buttar su una band insieme… parliamo dei The Jury la band che non vedrà mai la luce, composta da Mark Pickerel alla batteria e Krist Novoselic al basso, oltre che Cobain e Lanegan.
4 feb 2012 · The roots of The Winding Sheet lay in a never fulfilled project between Lanegan, Screaming Trees’ drummer Mike Pickerel, and Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic that began in late 1989. Why the project fell apart is hard to say. Nirvana had just released the Blew EP, and the band was over five months from beginning work on Nevermind.
16 lug 2014 · The difference between finger-picking and plectrum playing is visible for sure – it contributes to the simplicity of the sound on Cobain’s rendering for MTV – but the version on “The Winding Sheet” is a whole other animal.
