Brewster Place is an American drama series which aired on ABC in May 1990. The series was a spinoff of the 1989 miniseries The Women of Brewster Place, which was based upon Gloria Naylor 's novel of the same name. The series starred talk show host Oprah Winfrey, who also served as co- executive producer .

Winfrey portrays Mattie Michael who was kicked out of her parent's (Paul Winfield and Mary Alice) house after refusing to reveal the name of her soon-to-be-born child's father.

11 mag 2021 · I knew I would read stories of different women from Brewster Place but not stories like this. Gut wrenching, page turning, details that made me feel like I was there. From the poor decision of Mattie’s son Basil, to the heartbreaking details of what happened to Ciel’s children, there was something I related to in each of these women.
