  1. Thomas Graham, 1st Baron Lynedoch GCB GCMG (19 October 1748 – 18 December 1843) was a Scottish aristocrat, politician and British Army officer. After his education at Oxford, he inherited a substantial estate in Scotland, married and settled down to a quiet career as a landowning gentleman.

  2. Graham was the third and only surviving son of Thomas Græme of Balgowan, in Perthshire and Lady Christian Hope, daughter of the 1st Earl of Hopetoun. He was educated at Christ Church. He inherited from his father in 1777 and, in 1785, went on to purchase the estate of Lynedoch.

  5. Lynedoch, Thomas Graham, 1st Baron (1748–1843). General. On 3 September 1785 Graham participated in the first cricket match to be played in Scotland. After the death of his wife (whose portrait by Gainsborough hangs in the Scottish National Gallery) in 1791, Graham turned from managing his estate to a political and military career.

  6. Thomas Graham married the Hon. Mary Cathcart [d. 1792], daughter of the 9th Baron Cathcart. A Member of Parliament and celebrated commander in the Peninsular War, he achieved the memorable victory of Barossa on 5 March 1811, and was created Baron Lynedoch on 3 May 1814.
