Timothy Dwight College, Yale's ninth residential college, opened on September 23, 1935 at an over-budget cost of $2,000,000. At the time, the Yale Alumni Weekly called it "one of the most architecturally pleasing colleges."
Timothy Dwight College, a residential college of Yale University, is named after two university presidents, Timothy Dwight IV and Timothy Dwight V, who both left a lasting legacy at Yale. It is commonly known as TD.
The Timothy Dwights were two of Yale’s most illustrious presidents. Timothy Dwight the elder was the grandson of Jonathan Edwards, the Yale-educated, former president of Princeton. Born in 1752, the elder Timothy was said to be a remarkably precocious child.
8 apr 2024 · Michal Beth Dinkler, an associate professor of New Testament and early Christian literature at Yale Divinity School (YDS), has been appointed the next head of Timothy Dwight College (TD), Yale College Dean Pericles Lewis announced in a message to the community today.
Michal Beth Dinkler recently became the new Head of Timothy Dwight College at Yale. Professor Dinkler’s research lies at the intersection of New Testament and Ancient Christianity (NT/AC) and contemporary literary theory, providing a generative vantage point from which to advance scholarly discourse in multiple arenas.
