Titewhai Te Hoia Hinewhare Harawira (1932 – 25 January 2023) was a New Zealand Māori activist. Born in Whakapara and descended from Ngāpuhi chiefs, Harawira was an outspoken political commentator and a civil rights campaigner beginning with her involvement with activist group Ngā Tamatoa in the 1970s.

25 gen 2023 · Titewhai Harawira was one of the leaders of the 1975 land hīkoi that marched from the Far North to Parliament. Growing up during WWII, she had seen for herself the alienation of Maori land, and the seeds for her dedication to land rights were sown.
