She is extremely believable as over-protective and rather sociopath mother, Diana Donahue, the last woman, according to "Crimelibrary", to be executed by the electric chair in California. She basically sends her son through law school, and at first seems to have only his best intentions as her concern.
Seeming more like a jealous lover than a parent, Diana thwarts Nick's attempts to become his own man at every turn; she seduces a building superintendent in order to steal away an apartment that Nick wants to lease, falsifies prostitution arrest records for Nick's new girlfriend Abby (Sarah Trigger) and eventually - after the couple has married ...
