She is extremely believable as over-protective and rather sociopath mother, Diana Donahue, the last woman, according to "Crimelibrary", to be executed by the electric chair in California. She basically sends her son through law school, and at first seems to have only his best intentions as her concern.
Rarely does one witness a performance on the level of sheer madness exhibited by Judith Light in Too Close to Home, a CBS TV movie currently streaming for free on Amazon Prime. Based on a true story, Light plays disturbingly overprotective mother Diana Donahue, who is incapable of letting grown son Nick (Rick Schroder) leave the nest.
