Salvatore ‘Torrie’ Zito was a pianist, arranger, composer and conductor who worked with swing singers such as Bobby Darin, Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra. Zito initially performed as a bebop jazz pianist in the style of Bud Powell, but was known more for his success as a versatile arranger who was proficient in a wide range of styles.
