Of course the house of the Penmynydd Tudors goes back at least to Goronwy ab Ednyfed. Owen Tudor himself was very proud of his lineage and used this to acquire power at Bosworth. The Welshmen at the time looked up to him as the continuity of that noble house of Penmynydd, and joined him in their thousands in the days leeding up to Bosworth.

Ednyfed's son Goronwy gave rise to the Tudors of Penmynydd in Anglesey, from whom Owen Tudor and later Henry VII were descended.
