Twynholm (/ ˈ t w aɪ n əm /) is a village in Scotland. It is located 2 + 1 ⁄ 4 miles (3.6 km) north-northwest of Kirkcudbright and 4 + 1 ⁄ 2 miles (7.2 km) east of Gatehouse of Fleet on the main A75 trunk road. It is in the historic county of Kirkcudbrightshire, Dumfries and Galloway. The etymology of the name is uncertain.

Twynholm. Twynholm lies two miles north-west of Kirkcudbright. After centuries lying on the main road from Dumfries to Stranraer, it became a more peaceful village in 1973, when the line of the main A75 was changed to pass just north of Twynholm rather than through its centre.
