They were dismantled by the Israeli government after the Camp David Accords in 1978 and the Egypt-Israel peace treaty of 1979 and are today abandoned.

In Kochkor, there are some good homestays and a few relatively nice restaurants. However, you seriously don’t want to stay here for many days, so just pick a good guest house and head to Song Kul on the next day.
