It will suddenly, abruptly start playing during dialogue scenes, sometimes almost drowning out the actors. In turn, the songs here are interrupted by various noises - an alarm, or the thwack of a tennis ball.

Reznor started Nine Inch Nails in Cleveland in 1988 and linked up with Ross in 2002 while working on a side project called Tapeworm. 1 The pair ventured into film scoring together with David Fincher’s The Social Network in 2011, for which they won an Oscar.
