Biographie. Née à Berkeley, Ursula Kroeber Le Guin est la fille des anthropologues Alfred Louis Kroeber et Theodora Kroeber, spécialisés dans les cultures amérindiennes 3. Son père est considéré comme le premier diplômé en anthropologie aux États-Unis. Sa mère a eu sa propre carrière littéraire. Elle vit à Portland en Oregon à partir de 1958.
