Ann Geraldine Mary Fleming (née Charteris, 19 June 1913 – 12 July 1981) was a British aristocrat and socialite. She married Lord O'Neill, Lord Rothermere and finally the writer Ian Fleming. Life. Fleming was born to Frances Lucy Tennant (1887–1925) and Captain Guy Lawrence Charteris (1886–1967) in Westminster, London, on 19 June 1913.
Fleming was born in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire, England, the second son of Captain Valentine Fleming of Tuam, County Galway and his wife Catherine, a daughter of John Hunter Gowan II. Fleming was educated at Bangor and Trinity College, Dublin, graduating with honours in 1834. He was called to the bar at Gray's Inn on 21 January 1838.

Valentine Fleming was a member of the UK Territorial Force. He received his commission as Second Lieutenant on 30 Jun 1908 in the Queen's Own Oxfordshire Hussars. [6] He was with the regiment when they went to France in 1914, and shortly after promoted to major. He was killed in action during World War I on 20 May 1917.
