Valerie Ann Amos, Baroness Amos, LG, CH, PC (born 13 March 1954) is a British Labour Party politician and diplomat who served as the eighth UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator. Before her appointment to the UN, she served as British High Commissioner to Australia.

Baroness Valerie Amos is the Master of University College Oxford. She served in the British Cabinet as Secretary of State for International Development and Leader of the House of Lords (2003-2007). She was Under Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs at the United Nations (2010-2015) and was UK High Commissioner to Australia (2009-2010).
Baroness Amos was an adviser to the Mandela Government on leadership and change management issues and was appointed a Labour Life Peer in 1997. She became the first black woman to sit in the British Cabinet as Secretary of State for International Development.
