Dynamo Kyiv's stadium was also renamed the Lobanovsky Stadium in his honour. In 2003, Lobanovskyi was awarded FIFA Order of Merit, the highest honour awarded by FIFA. On 11 May 2003, before the first anniversary of the death of Lobanovskyi, a monument was opened near the Lobanovsky Dynamo Stadium.

Lo stadio dedicato al grande campione ucraino Valeriy Lobanovskiy fu costruito nel 1934 e salvo il periodo dal 2008 al 2011 in cui lo stadio Olimpico è stato completamente chiuso per i lavori di ristrutturazione è sempre stato il secondo stadio di Kiev anche per la sua ridotta capienza (16000 spettatori).
