El Valle de la Luna ( Valley of the Moon) is located 13 kilometres (8 mi) west of San Pedro de Atacama, in the north of Chile in the Cordillera de la Sal, in the Atacama desert. It has various stone and sand formations which have been carved by wind and water.

19 feb 2024 · Contents. Taking A Tour Of El Valle De La Luna. 12 hours on from my 4am trip to El Tatio Geysers, it was time to hop back on board the bus to tour El Valle de la Luna – the moon valley. I was pleased to be reunited with Veronica – our warm, friendly tour guide from that morning. Seeing sunrise at El Tatio Geysers was absolutely amazing.
