Basato sul romanzo del Premio Nobel per la Letteratura 2003 J.M. Coetzee che è anche lo sceneggiatore del film, Waiting for the Barbarians mette in discussione i principi essenziali dell’esistenza umana e il sottofondo del colonialismo nell’identità e memoria culturale di tanti popoli del mondo.
