  2. Andrzej Wajda is the best at endings. His ending is just as fitting. Knowing a film is a director's last always makes for a sad viewing experience. For me Afterimage is among the most fitting and the saddest. Not sad because of the contents of the film, but because I really love Andrzej Wajda and almost all of the dozen films I've seen so far.
