And so, when the next GBV record comes out, the only remaining bit of Cleveland in the mix will be the guitar of Doug Gillard (Gem/Cobra Verde). For now though, the Dayton man responsible for replanting the British Invasion into the ‘90s is putting forth his second solo album, WAVED OUT.

The reformed Guided by Voices (Doug Gillard, Greg Demos and ex-Breeders drummer Jim MacPherson) spent winter and spring laying down a pile of demos for Ric Ocasek.

"Waved Out" is true "gorilla beat" and was always well performed at GBV shows. "Whiskey Ships" is another powerful GBV like rocker with the power of a "Sudden" Sam McDowell fast ball. "Wrinkled Ghost" is positively stunning, this song will melt your soul on the first listen, try to think of Arthur Lee at his best and you'd be right there.
