Gourley and Carothers teamed up with Wesley Hubbard, Nick Klein (former guitar tech for Anatomy of a Ghost) and Harvey Tumbleson, and formed Portugal. The Man. The band left Alaska and went to Portland with the intent of recording and touring.

Wes Hubbard. Actor: Symone. Wes was born alongside with his twin brother, Wendell Hubbard in Los Angeles, to Willie and Patricia Hubbard. Being that they were two of five, he and his twin eventually carved a path for themselves in he entertainment field.

Storia. Il gruppo si è formato nel 2004 dopo lo scioglimento di un'altra band chiamata Anatomy of a Ghost. Della prima formazione del gruppo facevano parte, tra gli altri, John Gourley e Zachary Scott Carothers, a cui si aggiunsero Nick Klein, Wesley Hubbard e Harvey Tumbleson.
