What Josiah Saw - interesting family horror (?? maybe not) film that I was surprised to see bit off of Pulp Fiction of all things. It was incredibly odd given the tone of the film overall. However, I thought it was fun and one to add to the “fucked up movies” list for those who like disturbing subject matter.

1 giorno fa · With its handheld camerawork, location shooting, actor-centric ethos, and R&B score, this film will likely elicit comparisons with A Woman Under the Influence (1974). Andre is no doubt indebted to Cassavetes, but I was reminded more than once of Lodge Kerrigan’s 2004 psychodrama Keane , also about an unstable, possibly dangerous man who wanders a city and takes in a vulnerable woman.
5 giorni fa · Now, the second film was less beautiful and more genuinely troubling. This is Mother, I Am Suffocating. This is My Last Film About You. directed by Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese. I don’t know what to do with this film, but it is breathtaking. It’s an experimental film, partially a surreal documentary, about the experience of diaspora.
