'What We Found' accomplishes a lot with its sprawling ambitions and committed performances despite its rough technical and story-based edges. It doesn't exactly reach greatness but it grabbed and kept my attention throughout and is a much more satisfying feature than I expected it to be at the outset.
Finally, we are given a character who at least has a little personality, Katherine, but in this film, that doesn't mean much. Katherine reveals something about her past, which can only be described as the most interesting thing in this movie though again, it seems to be placed at a rather odd time in the film.
Parents need to know that What We Found is a mystery in which bright high schoolers are steps ahead of the authorities investigating a crime. It's also a story about friendship and the difficulties of growing up. For the most part, the kids are admirable, and even some bad guys try to be their best selves….
