Roy Luther, widowed for four years, and his four children - Devola, Mary Call, Romey and Ima Dean - live in the shadows of the Smokey Mountains of North Carolina, they truly a product of the mountains.
Where the Lilies Bloom is set in the Appalachian Mountains, where Mary Call Luther has to take care of her younger siblings, Romey and Ima Dean, after her mother’s death. Sensing that his death is near, her chronically ill father, Roy, asks Mary Call to be the head of the family after he passes.
