William Savile, 2nd Marquess of Halifax (1665 – 31 August 1700), was the son of George Savile, 1st Viscount Halifax and Dorothy Savile, Viscountess Halifax (née Spencer). He was educated in Geneva in 1677 and matriculated at Christ Church, Oxford , in 1681, but did not take a degree.

William Saville, 2nd Marquess of Halifax was born in 1665.2 He was the son of George Saville, 1st Marquess of Halifax and Lady Dorothy Spencer. He married Lady Mary Finch, daughter of Daniel Finch, 7th Earl of Winchilsea and Lady Essex Rich.

William Savile, 2nd Marquess of Halifax [4] Anne Savile, later Countess of Carbery (c.1663-1690) In 1667, George Savile was created Viscount Halifax. Following his wife's death, he remarried, in 1672, his second wife being Gertrude Pierrepont, daughter of William Pierrepont of Thoresby.
