The David Geffen School of Drama at Yale offers a Master of Fine Arts in acting, design, sound design, directing, dramaturgy and dramatic criticism, playwriting, stage management, technical design and production, and theatre management.
David Geffen School of Drama. Yale University founded a Department of Drama in the School of Fine Arts in 1924 through the generosity of Edward S. Harkness, B.A. 1897. In 1925, while the University Theatre was under construction, the first class of students was enrolled.

Admission to David Geffen School of Drama at Yale is only for full-time graduate study beginning in mid-August for the fall term. There is no rolling admission. There is no summer session. Transfer or part-time students are not accepted.
