- “Abbey Road” dei Beatles. C’è ancora chi ama discutere su quale sia la migliore band della storia, quale sia la più influente, arrivando anche a postulare che i Beatles in realtà siano stati solo la rappresentazione più commerciale di un momento musicale coraggioso e variegato, spesso scevro – o quasi – da logiche di mercato.
- “In a Silent Way” di Miles Davis. Per chi ha sempre ascoltato rock, Miles Davis per molti anni rimane un po’ una figurina, una sorta di Dio della musica ma non sai perché, un po’ come Dante al liceo: sai che è importante ma non hai ancora gran parte degli strumenti per capire il perché.
- “The Velvet Underground” dei Velvet Underground. Da non confondere con The Velvet Underground & Nico, questo è il primo album in cui si può intravedere meglio la capacità poetica di Lou Reed in contesti sonori meno estremi e molto più vicini alla forma canzone.
- “In The Court of The Crimson King” dei King Crimson. Quante volte avete visto questa copertina? In The Court of The Crimson King, frettolosamente categorizzato come progressive, ammesso che sia veramente parte del genere, ne è sicuramente l’espressione migliore e meno volgare: una magia.
