Sir Alec Douglas-Home was the 14th Earl of Home and the fourth Conservative Party leader in 1963 to 1964. He oversaw the abolition of resale price maintenance and took a tough stance on the trade unions. He also faced the Profumo Affair, the Suez Crisis and the assassination of John F Kennedy.

Alexander Frederick Douglas-Home, Baron Home of the Hirsel, KT, PC (/ ˈ h juː m / ; 2 July 1903 – 9 October 1995) was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1963 to 1964. He was better known as Alec Douglas-Home.
Alec Douglas-Home was the only British prime minister to have played first-class cricket. He scored 147 runs and took three wickets in ten matches for six different teams, including Middlesex and Oxford University.
