The band was led by singer Alex Ebert. In 2014, singer Jade Castrinos left the band. Numerous people have asked why Castrinos left and where she went.

Alex Ebert and Jade Castrinos are no longer together as they broke up around 2013/2014, with Jade going on to leave Edward Sharpe, the band they both sang in. Jade and Ebert had previously dated for several years, and fans of their band became used to seeing them together.

25 mar 2015 · At the time, Edward Sharpe frontman Alex Ebert reportedly responded to Castrinos’ comment with a Facebook post that was soon deleted. Ebert’s response read, “Jade has spoken out about not being on this tour. Her statement left a lot of things to the imagination. Out of respect for Jade, I will keep it that way.”
