  1. Around 10% of our Senior School pupils receive significant means-tested help with fees, many paying no fees at all. There is additional support available for extras such as uniform, learning devices and school trips. We provide over £2 million in means-tested support each year. Learn about bursaries.

  2. The number of bursary recipients at Alleyn’s has nearly doubled over the past six years. A very high proportion (around two thirds) of the bursaries awarded by Alleyn’s are fully funded and 86% of our bursaries are above 75% of the fees. The average means-tested funding is for 85% of the fees.

  3. Bursaries at 11+ are means-tested and are available: • to fund an Academic Bursary Place based on academic ability (up to 100% fee remission, based on family need) • to supplementa scholarship award (up to 100% fee remission based on family need)

  4. Further funding may be also available to help with the cost of coach travel to and from School (where no suitable public transport is available), with the cost of school meals, and uniform grants may be made. Recipients of substantial fee bursaries will be prioritised when considering such awards.

  5. Our mean-tested bursaries may cover up to 100% of fees, and there is additional support available for extras such as school trips. The registration fee to apply for Alleyn’s is waived for those in receipt of the Pupil Premium.

  7. Alleyn’s School has a long tradition of attracting pupils from a wide variety of schools and backgrounds. It offers a range of bursaries to allow boys and girls to attend the school, irrespective of financial means. In 2017/18, Alleyn’s provided 89 bursaries, the majority of which were fully-funded places.
