Anne Hathaway (1556 – 6 August 1623) was the wife of William Shakespeare, an English poet, playwright and actor. They were married in 1582, when Hathaway was 26 years old and Shakespeare was 18. She outlived her husband by seven years.

Anne Hathaway was a farmer's daughter from Shottery, near Stratford-upon-Avon, who married William Shakespeare at the age of 18. They had three children, Susanna, Judith and Hamnet, and lived in the family home on Henley Street until Shakespeare's death in 1616.
