KELVIN, Sir William Thomson, lord. Giovanni GIORGI. Fisico-matematico inglese, nato a Belfast (Irlanda) il 26 giugno 1824, morto il 17 dicembre 1907 a Netherall (Scozia). Laureato nel 1845 a Cambridge, proseguì gli studî a Parigi, lavorando un anno con H. Regnault.
