Prince Bernhard of Lippe-Biesterfeld (later Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands; 29 June 1911 – 1 December 2004) was Prince of the Netherlands from 6 September 1948 to 30 April 1980 as the husband of Queen Juliana.
Bernhard II. zur Lippe war der Begründer der Landesherrschaft Lippe und der Planstädte Lippstadt und Lemgo. Er trat nach 1194 in das Zisterzienserkloster Marienfeld ein, wurde um 1210 Abt im Kloster Dünamünde und 1218 Bischof von Selonien.

Bernhard van Lippe-Biesterfeld (nome completo in tedesco Bernhard Leopold Friedrich Eberhard Julius Kurt Karl Gottfried Peter; Jena, 29 giugno 1911 – Utrecht, 1º dicembre 2004) è stato principe consorte dei Paesi Bassi dal 1948 al 1980, in quanto marito della regina Giuliana.
Bernhard kreeg bij Koninklijk Besluit direct na de huwelijkssluiting de titel Prins der Nederlanden met het predicaat Koninklijke Hoogheid. Tevens werd hem zitting verleend in de Raad van State , het hoogste adviescollege van Nederland.
Bernhard, Prinz der Niederlande, Prinz zur Lippe-Biesterfeld, war der Prinzgemahl der Königin Juliana der Niederlande. Beide hatten zusammen vier Töchter: die spätere Königin Beatrix und ihre Schwestern Irene, Margriet und Christina. Einer seiner Enkel ist der heutige König Willem-Alexander.
Bernhard von der Lippe soll das Recht haben, nach eigener Willkür zu resignieren, wenn ihm der Pfarrkirche persönlich vorzustehen beschwert wäre. Später heiratete er, ließ sich 1543 in Horn nieder und erscheint 1552 als Sekretär Bernhards VIII., 1557 als Kanzler. Er starb 1558 und wurde in der Stadtkirche in Horn beerdigt. Literatur
