The Wars of the Diadochi ( Ancient Greek: Πόλεμοι τῶν Διαδόχων Pólemoi tōn Diadóchōn, literally War of the Crown Princes ), or Wars of Alexander's Successors, were a series of conflicts fought between the generals of Alexander the Great, known as the Diadochi, over who would rule his empire following his death.
The Diadochi were generals of Alexander who split his empire after he died into 3 separate states, all claiming the entire empire for themselves: Macedon and the Antigonid Dynasty, the Seleucid Empire and the Seleucid Dynasty, and Egypt and the Ptolemaic Dynasty. My question is, how the hell do you pronounce that word? Is it dee-uh-DOH-chee?
