Jess Walton is an American actor, best known for portraying the role of ‘Jill Abbott’ in the popular and long-running American soap opera ‘The Young and the Restless.’. She resolved to pursue an acting career in her teens. At the age of 17, she left home to work with a Toronto theater company.
Dickson returned in 1983 and, although she stated that she would never leave the role again, she was replaced by Jess Walton in 1987, who continues in the role to present time. When she debuted, Jill was an 18-year-old manicurist working to support her struggling family.
Biography. Jess Walton joined the cast of THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS in June 1987, as the driven and ambitious Jill Foster Abbott. For her portrayal of Jill, Walton was honored with a Daytime Emmy Award as Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 1997 and was nominated for Emmys in that category in 1996 and 2000.
