John Nash was born in September 1752 [1], probably in Lambeth, Surrey [now London], England and in c.1766 entered the office of the architect Sir Robert Taylor (1714-1788) as an indentured pupil. By 1775 he had left Taylor and within a couple of years had set up his own architectural and building practice in London.
