  3. Kenneth Harry Clarke was born on the 2nd of July 1940. After graduating from Cambridge University, Clarke was called to the bar in 1963 and became a QC (Queen’s council) in 1980. In 1964, Clarke married Gillian Edwards; they had two children. Edwards died of cancer in 2015.
