Kitsilano Secondary School, like the neighbourhood where it is located, was named after Xats’alánexw (Khahtsahlanogh).He was a highly respected family headman, or siy̓ám̓ of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) who shared kinship ties to the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), səlil̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Peoples and other Coast Salish communities.

Reunion Information. The 40th Kitsilano High School Reunion at the Arbutus Club was great fun. Some of the group carried on afterwards at the Fairview, Earls and a Casino. On Friday, before the reunion, we had a tour of the school and had dinner at the White Spot. On Sunday, the survivors had brunch at 11am at the White Spot again.
