Ethiopian forces attacked the newly arrived invading army and launched a counterattack in December 1935, but their poorly armed forces could not resist for long against the modern weapons of the Italians.
29 apr 2024 · By mid-August 1939, having stretched his forces further by invading Albania, Mussolini dispatched his son-in-law and Foreign Minister Galeazzo Ciano to Germany to convince Nazi Foreign Minister Joachim von Ribbentrop and Hitler to call off the war. The encounter did not go well.
