1 giorno fa · I film di Spike Lee sanno essere molto duri e molto diretti, ma anche molto divertenti e sarcastici.I temi che affronta sono sempre molto complessi: la libertà della comunità afroamericana, la gentrificazione, i dislivelli nella società, l’emancipazione femminile. È anche grazie al suo lavoro se oggi esistono prodotti come High Fidelity (qui i motivi per cui dovreste recuperarla subito).

What he didn’t do much of was flagrant garbage — he avoided the kinds of artistically bankrupt nonsense that are the de facto paydays for guys on the upswing in this business.

2 giorni fa · I’d seen fragments of Spike Lee’s Do the Right Thing over the last twenty years, but never from start to finish. I can’t say I’m a massive fan of Lee’s work. I have seen six of the thirty-five films he’s made since 1983. I need to watch Malcolm X, as out of all of Lee’s work, that film intrigues me the most.
