  3. Ornithology, the study of birds, is an ID event in Science Olympiad! Similar to other binder events, it is very important you have a thorough binder and you are able to efficiently retrieve information from it. You should also gain a general understanding of bird anatomy and be able to understand the difference between different birds.

    Generate the material online (i.e., by typing), rather than predominantly hand-writing the material.
    Choose whether to use sheet protectors for or hole-punch the material.
    Create a Table of Contents to help with organization.
    Use tabs, labels or dividers to mark important sections, thus making them easier to locate and access.

We support the latest specimen lists in the Science Olympiad rulebook in addition to state-specific specimen lists. It's not just images either! Sound-based identification is available for Ornithology too.

  6. I’m not sure about the exact numbers, but I know the ornithology people worked together to make over 100 pages for the binder (all in color, I feel bad for the printer). I imagine it’d take about 50 hours total, so around 8 hours per person. The circuit lab binder is a lot shorter.
