25 apr 2024 · Parasite 2019 ★★★★★. Watched Apr 24 , 2024. I mean what more can you say other than it’s a masterpiece. This is Bong’s magnum opus, a gold standard of genre-bending and the perfect gateway into Korean cinema. Perfectly directed, well-written and so goddamn funny and also a surprisingly terrifying social thriller when you least expect it.

For me, this movie is a critique of the lack of class consciousness among both wealthy and poor workers. First, we need to understand the difference between the ruling class and the petite bourgeoisie.
