The Gunpowder Plot. Scott's first attempt at a feature film was a project based on the 1605 Gunpowder Plot about the plan to assassinate King James I and blow up the House of Lords. A screenplay had been written Gerald Vaughan-Hughes, though Scott could not obtain funding, so the film was never made.
