The Netherlands Marine Corps (Dutch: Korps Mariniers) is the elite naval infantry corps of the Royal Netherlands Navy, one of the four Armed Forces of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The fleet, navy personnel and marines of the Royal Netherlands Navy are deployed worldwide in the interests of ensuring security at sea and from the sea. Both at home and abroad, the Navy takes part in crisis management operations and provides humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.
The Royal Netherlands Navy (Dutch: Koninklijke Marine) is the naval force of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. It is one of the four Netherlands Armed Forces. It was founded on 8 January 1488, making it the third-oldest naval force in the world.
De Koninklijke Marine zet zich met vloot en mariniers wereldwijd in voor veiligheid op en vanuit zee. In Nederland en in het buitenland helpt de marine bij crisisbeheersingsoperaties, humanitaire hulpoperaties en bij rampen.
The Netherlands Maritime Special Operations Forces (NLMARSOF, also simply referred to as MARSOF) is the special forces unit of the Marine Corps of the Royal Netherlands Navy. It is one of the three principal units tasked with special operations in the Netherlands (the other being the Korps Commandotroepen ).
In general terms, the Royal Netherlands Navy organisation comprises fleet units, the Marine Corps and a number of shore facilities. The most important bases of these Navy elements are located in Den Helder, Doorn, Rotterdam and the Caribbean.
