Sir Francis Drake è stato un corsaro, navigatore e politico inglese. Membro di spicco dei famosi Sea Dogs, fu il primo inglese a circumnavigare il globo, dal 1577 al 1580, e fu insignito del titolo di cavaliere al suo ritorno dalla regina Elisabetta I.
Sir Francis Drake (1540-1596) fu un corsaro e cavaliere britannico al servizio della regina Elisabetta d'Inghilterra. Il personaggio è stato introdotto da Carl Barks e poi sviluppato da Don Rosa, basandosi sull'omonimo personaggio storico realmente esistito.

Sir Francis Drake (c. 1540 – 28 January 1596) was an English explorer and privateer best known for his circumnavigation of the world in a single expedition between 1577 and 1580. This was the first English circumnavigation, and third circumnavigation overall.
