Sounder plot. The Morgans are a loving black farming family in Louisiana, 1933. A family crisis arises when the father is convicted of a minor offense and sent to a prison camp. After a few weeks, the mother sends her 11-year-old son to visit his father in the camp. The journey becomes a sort of odyssey for the boy.
