3 giorni fa · Kind of loved this. Gorgeously shot, great cast and some nice effects work. I feel like this would make a good double feature with the Suspiria remake. While Suspiria takes a lot longer to do so, they both devolve into b-movie hysterics and when it comes to religious/occult horror that's exactly what I want.
3 giorni fa · I never really liked Suspiria that much, apart from the incredible opening sequence of course. I re-watched Phenomena last night, and I'm now watching the making-of film. I like it, but it really does feel like a remake of Suspiria itself. Watching a load of Argento in a short time reveals just how little variation there is in his stories.
The only thing I thought she was decent in was the Suspiria remake, where her breathless monotone delivery and wistful, vacuous expression suited the character and vibe of the film. I don't see her as a big budget or mainstream actor at all - if we must be subjected to her, put her in indie projects where she can be accessibly beautiful and tepid in a way that suits some lower budget productions.
