Sir Thomas Daniel "Tom" Courtenay (born 25 February 1937) is an English actor. [1] His career began during the 1960s. He is known for his roles in The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner (1962), Billy Liar (1963), Doctor Zhivago (1965), The Dresser (1983), and in Last Orders.

25 feb 2022 · Albert Finney and Tom Courtenay – brought together by The Dresser. Tom Courtenay, 85 today, and the late Albert Finney were both new wave stars in the early 1960s. They only became best friends in 1983 on the set of The Dresser, written by Ronald Harwood. Albert and I were buddies but not until long after our names were first linked in the 1960s.
